Meritize Named One of America’s Best Startup Employers of 2020 by Forbes

Education finance startup Meritize funds students based on merit and potential, rather than credit score

FRISCO, TEX. – March 12, 2020 –  Forbes has named Meritize, the developer of merit-based financing and career solutions, to its inaugural list of 2020 America’s Best Startup Employers. The list ranks the 500 employers that have demonstrated the best employer reputations, employee satisfaction and growth, according to an independent analysis conducted by Forbes and market research firm Statista.

To compile the list, Forbes partnered with Statista to identify 2,500 American businesses founded between 2010 and 2017 and employ at least 50 people. The analysis also reviewed news articles and social media posts pertaining to each employer and assessed employee satisfaction, online reviews, website traffic and headcount over a two-year period.

“From the beginning, our goal with Meritize has been to build a company where talent, company culture and technology were all oriented around a social impact mission,” said Chris Keaveney, founder and CEO of Meritize.

Recently named No. 3 fastest growing North Texas company by Dallas Innovates, Meritize is working to bridge the gap between job-seekers, training providers and employers with the mission of closing skill-gaps for in-demand roles. Their model creates access to skills training through merit-based lending practices that take into account an individual’s academic, military or work achievements to enhance credit evaluation, award credit for merit and make financing options more affordable. The company serves a national network of more than 300 training providers that offer more than 3,800 unique and in-demand training programs.
